My Name is Victoria (2008)
Printed manuscript
Edition of 300 Performance: April 29, 2010, Para / Site, Hong Kong ‘

‘My Name is Victoria’ is a compilation of Facebook and email responses to the artist concerning their name contributed by women named Victoria. The book was first produced as an artist book and video work, as it is actually a script meant to be performed as if the reader is temporarily assuming a different identity of Victoria. A name implies a kind of identity. The words and character from each contributor named Victoria is adopted by the reader and the identity is meant to be impersonated. This is a book about the naming of Victoria and also an object of imagination when the reader exercises reciting all these stories. On April 29, 2010, fourteen volunteer performers recited the script My Name Is Victoria individually and randomly to visitors attending the exhibition opening at Para/Site in Hong Kong. The artist describes his art as a contradiction of ideas and that he likes to explore things that are not meant to be.
